Well Adjusted Workshop (Part 2)

  • Triyoga Shoreditch shoreditch (map)

Follow up to the first workshop in October - so many more adjustments… (attendance to Part 1 not required).

This workshop breaks down some of the most popular poses in Vinyasa Yoga as well as some of the more “advanced” asana and will present some different ways for both teachers and practitioners to look at those postures and deliver more effective manual assists for them.

Whether in class or on social media, we often see the shapes we think represent the poses, but is this how we should really experience the asana? Rather than knowing what we want to look like in a pose, how do we know what we are supposed to feel in it? How can you actively access the pose rather than be passively put into it? Knowing what to look for in a manual adjustment can help some of us experience the essence of an asana more deeply. For people who tend to learn kinetically and kinesthetically (through movement and touch) rather than by seeing or hearing, it is especially beneficial to feel what a teacher means rather than just hearing an instruction. We will look at how to manually assist a variety of skill levels from beginner to advanced as well as different types of bodies. Finding out what works for one may not work for all, this is a chance to play and experiment in a room of like-minded yogis.
