Yoga versus the Ice Man with Marcus Veda and Anastasis Tzanis
A 5hr immersion Workshop combining the special breathing techniques of Wim Hof (aka “Ice Man”) with a cold training experience and Rocket Vinyasa Yoga. While the dynamic flow of the Yoga practice is known to stoke the internal fire or “agni” in the practitioner, we will look at how the power of the cold can be used to enhance your body's innate ability to heal itself and the mind's strength in the face of adversity. We will take time to explain the science involved, including the manifold health benefits to the body and nervous system. But this will be above all an experiential workshop, challenging you to not just understand the theory but to feel the effects in practice.
Many of us are familiar with the benefits of yoga itself, but cold training is also shown to improve: sleep and energy, effective breathing, oxygenation of muscles and organs, aerobic and anaerobic performance, tolerance to cold and the ability to combat stress-related symptoms of modern city-living. It can also up-regulate the immune system, strengthen the cardio-vascular system, reduce fatigue, enhance focus and even facilitate weight loss.
Open to practitioners of any style of yoga, though some experience of vinyasa – and the link between breath and movement- will be useful.
