Inversions can become the big obstacles in any vinyasa practice, worse still they can become the goal that make you lose sight of the practice. By approaching them like any other posture- safely, intelligently and with patience- we can see them as just another challenge to our Tapas on the mat.
It can be a great feeling when you take some weight off your feet and onto your hands, and extremely beneficial for the body and mind if you can maintain these postures. But overcoming the fear in getting there is sometimes harder than the techniques themselves, so we will be using various ways and means to get up with props, walls, partners and mostly your inner (core) strength so you you can experience what it feels like up there. Staying there is then up to you.
Working through and breaking down the inversions and tricky transitions of Larry Schultz' Ashtanga-inspired Rocket Yoga, expect intros to headstand variations, handstand, fore-arm stand, Lifts up, over through and into. Rocket gives you wings, whether you're still working on take-off or want to fly higher.
This workshop should be challenging and fun for all levels (except complete beginners).
